She got the inking in 2014 and revealed it has a special meaning to her as it's what her grandfather called her. The Capitoline Wolf sculpture and Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam are reinterpreted in the music video, while her VMA performance is based on Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. She is of Italian descent, and one of her earlier tattoos was the Italian word “bellisima” on her side. Brian Nicholoson, one of her close friends and a dancer, also got the similar tattoo. She got this tattoo in honour of her favourite song, “Moo nlight,” which she holds dear to her heart. At the 2020 Grammy awards, where Grande performed a medley of her hits, the singer showcased the aforementioned butterfly on her left tricep. It was later assumed this had been developed into the two butterflies design. However, in May 2020, Grande performed with The Weeknd at the iHeartRadio awards and there was no sign of the butterfly details on her left shoulder...
The tattoo is gorgeously designed to perfection, and we love how it captures her aesthetic to a tee. Grande fans around the world can appreciate the tattoo because it looks just like her, and we are certain that Ari herself would be proud of the carefully constructed design. Though most of Grande's tattoos are concentrated around hands and neck, she also has one on her upper thigh, which we can't quite make out. Sharing a selection of photos to Instagram in the summer of 2020, Grande's hand placement meant you could see her decorated hands up close. One addition, noticed by fans was two vine leaves wrapped around her right wrist.

Tat artist Romeo Lacoste, well-known for his appearances in season three of Best Ink TV show. Ariana has the word 'always' written in Pete Davidson's handwriting tattooed on her rib cage. Ariana covered up her ‘reborn’ tattoo with an olive branch on her left hand. The REM tribute tattoo sits next to a black heart and a lightening bold behind her ear and was revealed in the video for 'breathin’.
